Hi there. Forget about me? I’m back and write about more than hockey and hungover Sunday morning musings… Let’s talk about AJ Dillon and what he means for the future of the Birds Offense.

(I’m always going to opt for the picture of a young-ish player in college… don’t @ me)
So AJ is not a replacement for Kenny Gainwell, he’s actually the polar opposite. This kid is big and beefy and was often confused as a Fullback by Packer fans (henceforce known as packers of… well I’m sure you can finish the joke). He is the thunder to Saquon’s lightning. He is the blocking back of Jalen’s dreams. He’s the blocking replacement for Dallas Goedert if this really is the end of his tenure in Philly.
This is another signing in the pantheon of Howie’s now annual buy-low spree where he picks the bones of lesser organizations and takes young guys who might not have been in the most favorable situations and then poof they turn into the best linebacker in the league or a Pro-Bowl caliber offensive lineman (seriously, what’s happening with Becton?!? I would be completely fine with this article being irrelevant on arrival because he re-signs…)

(Fine Kev, here’s one of him on the …packers)
So he’s massive, and good at pass blocking, what else JJ?! Well he also has hands… Dillon can catch the ball out of the backfield better than most his size, and will definitely take some of the onus off Jalen in short yardage situations. All in all, he is a perfect addition and was not costly. Unfortunately he’s going to play himself into the bag next offseason behind this O-Line… anyways, most of you don’t want to keep reading on your Friday so here, here’s the highlight reel:
