Days like Thursday exist to show us why sports are the best, in that they showcase the best of humanity between clearly defined rules and lines. On the other side of that coin however, days like Thursday illustrate how much specific viewpoints can truly perverse the beauty of sports.

Let’s quickly divert to the hockey in the Flyers first outing post firing of John Tortarella because it ties into this narrative. The Flyers won Thursday 6-4 against the Habs and both damaged the Canadiens playoff chances while also moving them from the 4th overall to the 6th as it stands right now. The game was entertaining and the team truly showed a spark that hasn’t been present for the last few weeks of Torts tenure so it’s really hard to be mad, but it’s still detrimental to the future. Anyways, they won, Michkov and Coots had transcendent performances and that leads me into the tournament…

We ended Thursday with our first losing record in a day this tournament as Duke blew a 18 point lead to win by 7. Which for those of you playing at home, is 2.5 points shy of the cover we needed. We finished Thursday 1-2. The silver lining was that if you had the gravitas and bravado to take my two leans of the over in BYU X Bama and Arkansas +5.5, you picked up two wins to make the day a success. We currently stand at 13-7 which is not ideal, despite it being a better margin than any paid-for pick service in America. Let’s get back on the gravy train today dear condo dwellers. Here’s what I like today:

-Friday 7:39 pm Tennessee -4.5 (2) vs Kentucky (3): Great rivalry. Great matchup. I feel like the line is taking the rivalry between border states and as a result the line is short a few points. Take the Vols.

-Friday 10:09 pm Houston -8.5 (1) vs Purdue (4): This is going to be a bit of a rock fight, but the only team capable of blowing out the other is the Cougs so we take the favorite, lay the points and move forward.

Only two 1 unit plays on our Friday. We hopefully scoop both and get creative over the weekend. Let’s have a day!
