After the four day stretch of wall to wall college hoops I always appreciate the come down of the Monday after the first two rounds of the tournament. I watched the White Lotus and went to bed extremely early which was both necessary and really nice. But, now the withdrawal sets in and we have the mundane reality here in the Iladelph that there’s nothing to watch today or tomorrow and that sports itch will most certainly go unscratched until the sweet 16 on Thursday.

Well dear reader, you are definitely right. We have entered a Sahara-like desert here in the city of brotherly love when it comes to sports content. We have entered the stretch run for both the sixers and the flyers and we are in the bizarro world of rooting for L’s, pure, unadulterated losses. The Flyers need Center-depth and possible an elite defender if they can climb the draft order high enough. While the Sixers are just trying to maintain possession of their own draft pick after a season of injuries has left them running out the equivalent of a G League roster. And of course the Phillies are wrapping up their time in America’s wang and no one cares about the end of spring training.

So what do we do JJ? Do we just toil on this mortal plane of existence until the tournament comes back on Thursday afternoon??? Well, yeah kinda. And let’s be really clear here, are you just waiting for the love of the game or are you waiting for more picks from JJ’s gambling ranch (we upgraded again, it’s a ranch now. If you’ve been tailing my plays you know why it’s been upgraded, because we had all these extra units lying around)?

Well, I’m going to give you a sneaky play to get you through to Thursday, where I will resume my dominance as the preeminent college basketball handicapper on the internet. We went 12-5 in the first four days of the tournament. Yeah it was rough-sledding those first two days at 3-2 apiece, but a combined 6-1 over the weekend let us stack cash. And I get it, now you greedy greedy people want more. That’s good. So watch some hockey, and before you say anything, I know hockey is tough to bet on. Well this time of year we it’s a bit clearer:

-Tuesday: The Flyers are in Toronto and we don’t bet puck lines here. I repeat, WE DON’T BET PUCK LINES! That’s a surefire way to lose more than you win. The Flyers are +215 on the moneyline and while you’re saying to yourself that’s a sign to take them. Don’t. They are going to (hopefully) lose to the -265 Maple Leafs. If you are a true degenerate that just needs something tonight, follow me in taking la habitants du Montreal on the road this evening at St. Louis with a moneyline price of +130. Montreal has been the hottest team in the league post-4 Nations Faceoff.

Godspeed Philly Phaithful. Let’s have a day.
