Sitting at 13-3 with the #2 seed locked in after beating the Cowboys 41-7 (with their backups; meaning 3 Eagles QBs have beaten Dallas this year), the Eagles head into the final week hosting the New York Giants. The final week of the Eagles regular season ends today, January 5th, with a 1:00 Kickoff.

In the final game of the year, with the #2 seed locked in, the Eagles only had one thing to really play for: giving Saquon Barkley a chance to break the single-season rushing yards record. However, Barkley will fall short by 101 yards as Nick Sirranni has decided to sit most of his starters to give a team that has played for 12 weeks straight some much-needed rest. The plan makes the most sense, as they won’t get a bye like the #2 seed and need to manufacture one. It’ll be an interesting game of two teams with no desire to win: the Giants need to lose to have the best possible pick to draft a QB next year and the Eagles need to lose so the Giants have a worse opportunity for said draft pick. While I expect both teams to pull out the stops–there will be players who normally don’t have a chance to shine starting–I do wonder how far those stops will go.
