The Eagles’ winning streak snapped as they fell to 12-3 with a loss to their NFC East rival, the Washington Commanders. You could put an asterisk next to the loss as Jalen Hurts came out of the game early with a concussion. In their Kelly Greens, they return to Lincoln Financial Field for Eagles vs Cowboys (Part 2) today, December 29th, with a 1:00 Kickoff.
Between last week and these next two weeks, there is some importance for the Eagles. They need to win 1 or the Commanders must lose 1 for us to clinch the division. They had an opportunity last week, despite Jalen Hurts leaving the game, as they held a healthy lead until the fourth quarter against the Commanders. We saw that our defense isn’t superhuman and that Jalen Hurts may be a difference-maker for this team–his threat of the run gives Saquon Barkley more opportunities which then also gives AJ Brown and Devonta Smith more opportunities. Regardless, it was one game and we have two more opportunities to clinch the division: today against the Cowboys or next week against the Giants. Listen to last week’s Post Game Pod or watch the last two TikToks where we explain how this is totally fine and doable.
